Lamed Beyt Hey
There are layers and layers of mysteries just waiting to be revealed in the three letters Hey, Beyt, and Lamed. The name Abel. Mysteries hidden in plain sight in the beginning that reveal the end.
Let's begin our journey by considering the clue revealed by the prophet Isaiah.
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? And beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous?
Abel was the second son of Adam and Eve who was killed by his brother Cain in a fit of jealous rage.
Throughout the Messianic narrative that begins in the book of Genesis, we find a recurring theme, an anthem that keeps repeating over and over.
Abraham is given the Messianic promise and told that he will have a son in his old age who will be the first in a line of succession that leads to the Anointed one.
Isaac is born when Abraham is 100 years old and he is declared by the LORD to be the child of promise.
Isaac is Abraham’s second son. Ishmael, Abraham's first-born child, is excluded from the Messianic line of succession. The line through which the Messiah will be introduced to the world is established in Isaac, the second born son of Abraham
Isaac has two sons. The eldest, Esau, is his favorite and the one in line to keep the Messianic hope alive. The Lord has other plans and it is Jacob, the second son, that is given the blessing and chosen by God to be the father of the twelve tribes of Israel. The nation through which Messiah would be revealed to the world.
Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, is a shadow-type of Messiah. The story of Joseph is the longest narrative in the Scriptures and in his story are all the seed plots of the gospel of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach including the picture of him marrying a gentile bride. A picture of the Gentile church.
Joseph is blest with two sons. Jacob, Joseph's father, is old and about to die. Joseph takes his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, to his aged blind father in order that the old Patriarch might bless his eldest son, Manasseh, with the first-born blessing. But instead of blessing Manasseh, Jacob switches his hands and blesses the second born son Ephraim.
So what is going on with the Second Son?
The answer is a mystery that is revealed 4000 years later. Revealed in the flesh and revealed in the prophetic word.
Yeshua Ha-Mashiach is the Second and Last Adam.
But wasn’t Jesus the first-born son of Mary? The answer is yes.
But prophetically, the Son of God was born into the world of man to be the Second and Last Adam.
The first Adam disobeyed his Heavenly Father and brought a curse on all mankind.
The Second and Last Adam obeyed His heavenly Father and through His sacrificial death burial and resurrection removed the curse and penalty of sin for all those that love and trust him.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:45
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Abel is the first shadow type of the Messiah found in the Bible. The very first.
We just read what the Apostle Paul wrote about the first and last Adam. The last Adam is a quickening Spirit.
