Leviticus 25:10

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

What is Jubilee about?

Separation

The first thing you learn about  Jubilee is that it is about Separation. The command to “hallow” the fiftieth year means it is to be separated out and treated differently than the 49 years that preceded it.

It is a holy year like no other year.

Leviticus 25:10

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year

Proclamation of Liberty

The second thing you learn about  Jubilee is that it is a Proclamation of Liberty.

Leviticus 25:10a

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty

All the Inhabitants of Israel

The third thing we learn about Jubilee is that it is for ALL the inhabitants of Israel.

Leviticus 25:10b

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof:

Jubilee is all About Time

The fourth thing you learn about  Jubilee is that it is about the multiplication of Time!  The time period in view is seven years.  Seven is the number of Divine Completion.

What is the significance of seven times seven?

Leviticus 25:8-10a

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year,

Jubilee is based on a mathematical formula that unfolds as  follows:

7 years x 7 years +1 year = 50 years

Restoration

The fifth thing you learn about Jubilee is that it is about RESTORATION.

Leviticus 25:10b

And ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Can we learn anything else about Jubilee from the Pictures that are embedded in each of the four letters that compose the word Jubilee?

Let’s take a look.

 Yood

To  Work – A Mighty Deed –  A Deed Accomplished
To Make – Arm and Hand Accomplishing a Purpose
Divine  Deed

Hand

 Vav

To Add – To Secure – To Join Together – To Make Secure
To Bind Together – To Create a Connection between
Two things that are Separated from each other
Wooden Hook – Wooden Peg – To Hold Up

Iron Nail

 Beyt

House – Tent – Son – Family – Dwelling Place
Inside – Within – 1st Letter in the Torah that Identifies
The Son of God

Tent / House

 Lamed

Control – To Shepherd
To Have Authority – To Urge Forward
The Voice of Authority

 Staff

The Picture message is clear and supports the Conventional meaning of Jubilee.

The letter Yood pictured as a hand accomplishing a deed.
Vav is pictured as a Nail that is securing two things that were once separated.
Beyt is pictured as a house or a tent.
Lamed is pictured as a Shepherd's Staff.

When you put all the pictures together based on the context of the conventional text, the Picture message that unfolds is as follows:

A Divine Deed is being done that restores families to their homes where they are joined together again, revived, renewed and regain the authority over land and possessions that were once lost.

While the Picture meaning based on the Conventional text does support what the Scriptures reveal about Jubilee, they do not seem to add any new information.

There is, however, a deeper more penetrating Pictorial meaning that has nothing to do with real estate in Israel and the restoration of houses and lands.

The Messianic Meaning of Jubilee

The Messianic translation of Jubilee contains a spiritual meaning that has far-reaching implications. This is a message for all mankind, Jew , and Gentile.

Jubilee

Lamed              Beyt                 Vav             Yood

Jubilee declares that God has a Divine Plan that will unfold at the Appointed time in order to Deliver Mankind from the Wrath of God, the Bondage of Sin, and Eternal Damnation! This is not a Jewish Jubilee restricted to the inhabitants of Israel, this is a Jubilee that is offered to All men that are inhabitants of the earth.

This Jubilee will heal the breach between God and Man by virtue of the atoning sacrifice of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach. It is by Messiah’s blood shed on Calvary that sins are forgiven and men are invited to become re-united with their Heavenly Father, adopted into the family of God where they will one day spend eternity in the presence of our Savior and Lord Yeshua!

This is the Liberty that is being declared in the shadow type of the year of Jubilee. This is the Jubilee that Yeshua declared in Galilee proclaiming that this prophecy spoken by Isaiah the prophet was being fulfilled by him.

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Romans 10:9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  4. I find your articles very informative and inspiring…one thing I will point out though, is that your articles mistakenly refer to the Jews as “Israel”…and they are not. Nowhere in the scriptures does God refer to the Jews as “Israel”…ever. In fact, the very first time the word “Jews” is even mentioned in the scriptures is in a passage that finds them at war…”WITH ISRAEL”. (2nd Kings 16:5-6). Also, the word translated as “Jews”, is simply a word that means “man of Judah”. (YEHUDI). God tells us where to find “Israel” in these last days…Jacob (Israel) transferred his name (Israel), to Joseph’s two sons…Ephraim and Manasseh, after he adopted them upon his death bed (Genesis 48:5 and 16). Prophetically, in Deuteronomy 33:17, God tells us that they (Ephraim and Manasseh) will “together” (as Joseph… Israel) push their enemies to the ends of the earth.

  5. If you want to know where Israel is then all you have to do with follow the tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim after the Assyrian captivity throughout their Northwest migration to the Isles according to the scriptures
