The Mystery Message Hidden in the Name of The Messiah

Chet  Yood  Sheen   Mem

As we learned in Part 1 of The Mystery Message Hidden in the name of the Messiah, the literal Hebrew meaning of the word translated into English as Messiah is the Anointed One.  We also learned that in our English Bible, the title Messiah is only found in one book of the bible where it appears only twice.

The Ancient Prophetic Text of Daniel is one of most amazing books in the entire Scriptures.  It is the book that reveals the exact day that the Messiah will appear in the temple in Jerusalem as the spotless lamb of God to be examined by the priests who end up rejecting Him just as the prophet Isaiah says they would in his prophecies written over 500 years before the Messiah appeared.

Let’s read what it says in Daniel 9:24-26:

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Now let’s take a look at the hidden message embedded in the Hebrew word that is translated into English as Messiah

It is the Hebrew word Mashiach and it is spelled Mem, Sheen, Yood, Chet.

The first letter in the title Messiah is Mem .  Mem is pictured as Water.  It can picture the calm water of a life-giving stream, or the gentle rain that showers the earth so that it might bring forth its bounty, or it can picture the violent and chaotic water of the ocean that brings destruction and death by way of floods and tsunamis.  Water can be a picture of life or it can be a picture of death and destruction, chaos, and confusion.

In the context of the meaning of Messiah, the meaning of Mem is Chaos, Confusion, and Death.  You will see why when we assemble all the pictures that disclose of the hidden message embedded in the title of Messiah.

 Mem

Liquid – Mighty Waters like the Ocean

Massive as the waves of the Sea

Chaotic and Destructive like a Tsunami

 Sheen

To Consume – To Destroy – Sharp – To press

The One Letter that God used to identify Himself

God’s Signature – Letter that stands for God Almighty

Teeth

The second letter in the title of Messiah is Sheen .  Sheen is pictured as Teeth.  Sheen is a picture of pressing or gnashing.  It can be the picture of destruction or of unmatched formidable power and strength.  It is the one letter that God has as His signature.  It is an awesome and mysterious letter that should cause the reader to take special note of its meaning.

The third letter in the title of Messiah is Yood .  Yood is pictured as a hand and the ideal meaning of the picture certainly applies to the name Messiah.  Yood is the picture of a mighty deed that is accomplishing a divine purpose.

Yood

To Work – A Mighty Deed – A Deed Accomplished

To Make – Arm and Hand Accomplishing a Purpose

Divine Deed

Hand

The final letter in the Hebrew word we translate as Messiah is the 8th letter of the Hebrew alpha-bet, the letter Chet which is pictured as a Sanctuary, a place of Refuge and Rest.  It is a protected place that is secure from all enemies, a quiet place that is separated from everywhere else.  It is pictured as a garden hideaway.

Chet

Private – To Separate – To Protect – Place of Protection

To be cut off – Grace – Favor – A place of Refuge

A Protected Garden – Quiet Place – Silent and Still

In Security – Fence – Inner Room

Sanctuary

Now let’s put the picture pieces of the puzzle together to discover what hidden message is unfolded in the four Hebrew Pictures that compose the name of Messiah.

In the first picture of Mem we see Chaos, Corruption, Confusion and Death.

In the second picture of Sheen we see the picture of crushing and destruction.

So ask yourself what is being destroyed.  The answer is that Chaos, Corruption, Confusion and Death are being destroyed.  Sheen as it is used in the word Messiah is a picture of the destruction of everything that causes chaos, confusion, corruption and death.

The third letter Yood reveals that a might work is being accomplished.

The fourth and final letter Chet reveals the outcome of that mighty work.

The meaning of Messiah can be summarized in two sentences.

He came to destroy the works of Satan that are at the root of all evil, chaos, confusion, corruption and death.

He will come again to take us to a place that He has prepared for us with His own hands.  A place of Rest.

The following verses succinctly summarize the hidden message found in the title of Messiah.  The title that belongs to one person and one person only, Yeshua the Appointed One, or as they say in Hebrew Yeshua Ha-Mashiach.

Mem/Sheen

Messiah has come to destroy the works of the Devil.

Revelation 20:2

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Revelation 20:10

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Hebrew 2:13-14

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

2 Timothy 1:10

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:55

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Now let's look at the revelation in the last two letters of our Messiah.

Yood Chet

The same Messiah that came to destroy the works of the Devil is coming again to take us to the wonderful place that He has prepared for us.

John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

So to summarize, the Picture Meaning of Messiah is this:

The Messiah has come to destroy the works of chaos confusion and death.  He has come to destroy the works of the Devil

The Messiah is coming again in order to receive all those who have put their faith and trust in Him.  He is coming again to gather us together in order that He might take us to the place He has prepared for us.  He has come that we might have life everlasting in His presence adopted as glorified sons and daughters.

Praise our Heavenly Father for sending His Only Begotten Son in order that we might have life everlasting.

    Hi all,
I am fascinated by the Hebrew of the Bible,
I believe in the Beauty of it, but I am confused by the translation to English. What little I know, Jesus was never called Christ so why do they keep calling him Jesus Christ ?

    1. Josh Keely says:

      Hi Ian,

In the New Testament, Jesus is called the “Christ” on a number of occasions (over 500). Keep in mind that the title “Christ” simply means “Anointed One” in Hebrew (pronounced “Ham-mah-SHEE-akh”) and is found throughout the Old Testament scriptures as such. Jesus would have been known as “Jesus Bar-Joseph” or  “Jesus, son of Joseph” by His contemporaries, but the title “Christ” was also given to Him throughout the New Testament. This is translated to English as “Anointed One”, “Christ”, and “Messiah” throughout the English bible. A few passages below:

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

      Hope this helps!
      Josh

I am thoroughly enjoying these studies! What a blessing for my Berean heart! I’m having difficulty with the voting system, my finger accidently brushed the screen and reduced the five stars to three. It was easily worth five stars, but it won’t allow me to change it. Sorry.
